An audio and music product industry pioneer with more than 30 years
of experience, Ken Berger currently runs a product development and marketing
consulting firm. During those 30 years, Berger distinguished himself
as one of a very small handful of entrepreneurs to create and develop
a high-end professional audio brand, EAW, and take it to $50M annual
revenue.
Prior to founding his consulting firm, Berger held the Senior Vice President
of Marketing and Product Development position at LOUD Technologies Inc.,
one of the world’s largest professional audio and musical instrument
manufacturers and distributors. At LOUD, he was responsible for the strategic
direction and marketing for iconic brands including Ampeg, Alvarez, EAW,
Mackie, Crate and Tapco.
Immediately prior to LOUD, Ken was founder and CEO of UCI, a web portal
company which created ProSoundWeb.com and Live-Audio.com, the largest
online community serving the live and recording sound industries.
However, Berger’s greatest contribution to the professional audio industry was his founding of EAW (Eastern Acoustic Works) in 1978. The company grew to become one of the world’s leading suppliers of loudspeakers for concerts (Erik Clapton to Motley Crue) and major installations (Fenway Park to St. Peters Square). As founder and CEO, Ken was responsible for all aspects of the operation — including finance, sales, marketing and manufacturing — up until his sale of the brand in 2001.
